Alright, so 4 people so far, 3 + me. That's a good size for a starting group.

So then, if everyone is cool with it, I'd be willing to GM. Though, I'd picky on rules and system and such. I tend to lean toward open source and small press (Indie) games due to their ingenuity and general cost.

So, some quick system ideas are as follows:

D6: Comes in three main flavors, Space, Fantasy, and Adventure. There are several supplements for each and stuff can be adapted from core book to core book. Plus from what I've seen the system plats nice and crisp.

Fuzion: Free and it's part of what was used to make Mekton. A good, universal, d10 based game with several fan supplements and a GREAT Aliens setting

Mekton: I tend to go fanboy for this game. It's a RPG/Wargame (You can have the two separate) that is mainly purposed for Mecha anime style gaming. Although I've heard it's been adapted marvelously to space opera style settings.

Fate: Another universal game with plenty of support. It just got a Dresden Files version of it and I swear I can see and feel DS drooling over it when he brings it up in chat!

Those are the quick thoughts. As far as my interests as GM go, I am really leaning toward a supernatural (But not directly fantasy) game, or a sci-fi/space opera style setting.

Since BA likes supernatural not-fantasy stuff, I'd recommend CthulhuTech. The best way to describe it is "Evangelion as written by Lovecraft". Plenty of Old Gods, humanity living in a doomed future, that kind of thing.

Shadowrun is another one that mixes sci-fi with supernatural stuff, but adds a layer of cyberpunk to it. Although that has some fantasy elements...

Another one that might be interesting, but is totally different from anything is KULT. It's a horror fantasy game, which might be interesting. Its hard to find, apperently.

And of course, a personal favorite: Dark Heresy. A Warhammer 40k RPG. Comes with GRIMDARK and chainswords.

Well, those are my ideas. I never actually played any of them, I just picked out stuff that seemed interesting to play. My recommendations are CthulhuTech and KULT, or Shadowrun if we cant find it.

Now, there are a ton of games for us to play. BA and Aizen have posted their preferences above me. I also posted some ideas of my own. Most people seem to go with "Whatever", so I'll talk with the (possible) GM's and see what they prefer.

Since we're talking about it in xat and ideas are flying we really need to figure out what we're going to do with all the people interested!

So, the game looks to be settled on Star Wars. So we need to pick era and such. I'd say it's ultimately up to Aizen on what he wants to run, him being GM.

My though though, was mid Galactic Civil War.... or Post-War, where everything is still chaotic and order is slowly being restored. I think the latter might be best for opportunities.

The main issue right now seems to be how we have several (9+) people interested in playing. Genrally anything above 5 gets crazy.

I'll DM, since I have experience and all but just know that I like to throw in a few house rules myself, especially when it come to char. creation.
Also I would need all the books and the program that we would be playing on so I can dink around with that and get accustom to it.
So while i do that you guys can fight on who gets to play and what not, also after looking at all the books give me ideas and what you would like to play as, and what kind of time setting you want. Because in Star Wars the setting is everything, depending what era you pick some races/classes are not available. Such as Ewoks can't show up in the old republic era since they weren't discovered until the empire era. Also the Empire era puts restrictions on Jedis and what not since they were still being hunted.
Also tell me what kind of campaign you want, wither it be a Heroic kind or an go with the flow kind or even a Evil kind. If you go down the evil path jedis are not available though but then Siths are and they get lightning.
So yeah just let me know what you guys want to do, and I'll work around it. I just need all the materials.

It mostly comes to rolling chars. I think the want you to use some kind of points system and I find that to be bull shit.
I have you guys roll 4d6's, take out the lowest one and do that 6 times (This being for your stat's) then if you don't like that you can do it over but you have to keep the second one.
The other is initiative, I just like having everyone roll once and then just keep that for the encounter.
Other things are just small stuff that would have to be brought up in that situation.

I think that 2x damage for crits will work best. IMO a critical hit should do double damage, or it wouldn't really be critical.

If we go random, this is my preferred system. You roll, then assign each roll where you want it. So say I roll a 7, 11, 5. I then assign that 11 to strength, that 7 to intelligence, etc. So there is more player choice involved

As far as crits go, 2x the damage sounds good, although I intend to review the d20 rules.

I have another question for you all, When it comes to game play I just had a thought... Do you guys want to have some kind of voice chat set up? Like ventrillo or some think like that, cuz I just got this thought that typing out the whole game, is going to be be ultra slow.
I mean we can do it that way, but I suck at typing and during the story bit's and mostly during combat, it's going to slow down the game play a lot.
So I'm just throwing out this idea to everyone involved, we should maybe look for a way so we can all talk to each other.

Remember while rolling Chars. Use both the Main star wars book and the legacy one. The Legacy book is just an expansion and is meant to be used in conjunction with the main book, all it offers is different options for your class and new races.
If you rolled you guys with just the Legacy book please, look at the main book and make changes where you see fit.
Most of the Main feats, skills, and Force powers are in the main book.

Also I will not be doing space battles, they are fucking gay and I still don't really understand how to do it. And I'm not quite sure how to do it on fantasy grounds.
