More than I care to know.
Izzy shrugged with a smile.

It's not my business to know that stuff, after all. But I see your point.
Because Izzy doesn't really have any authority over anything anyway. She's just Helen's pet, and sometimes she invites people into her tentacle pit.

That's my father, in fact. He lives here in Hyrule. He paid for this house, actually.

She'd shake her head though.
I won't deny you. But I will say that where I'm from, even the smallest, most innocent looking creatures can be horribly deadly.

I can tell you, for example, that there are four lesser grade species of vampire and six higher grade species. A Mula, Bruxae, Alp or Alpor can take the form of humanoids. They can disguise themselves to look as harmless as possible.

Geralt once slew a Bruxae named Vereena who had moved in with a cursed man. I only know vague details, but Geralt mistook Vereena for an Alp, or a water nymph due to her choice of disguise. But in reality, she was ambushing every traveler that came within a mile of the home, leaving their corpses behind, sometimes hiding them in nettles.

He'll listen to her story, trying to follow but the names of so many foreign creatures in a row leaves him blinking a bit

I see. Well, I won't lie I don't really know too much about creatures like that, but I get the point you're trying to make. Nothing more dangerous than a smart monster.

Vampires, I've met a couple of those a long time ago. Haven't seen any since then.

So how many species of monster are there in your world? They must be a big problem if there are people like you around meant to deal with them.

When I first came to Aurora there was around 600 or so individual species, but from what I've heard there's been even more discovered since then. I think I heard there's 800 confirmed species now, but there's probably more out there.

Mmm, to be honest, I'm not sure I could explain this place any better than your father would of.

Sure Aurora seems very strange compared to most places, but for the most part it's simply monsters and humans trying to live their lives the way they want to.

I wish I had more to say, but I elected to withdraw from most of the events that happens around here to raise my daughter. If you go to Aurora, a visit to the town hall would likely answer any other questions you have.

Sometimes it's nicer to hear about places from word of mouth, though when that occurs you run the risk of running into some sort of bias.

How do you know they're facts? Do you trust everything you read?
Ciri retorted his statement with a smirk.

I'm not just a pretty face with a sword, you know. I'm a sorceress and a scholar as well. I can tell you from experience that history isn't written by facts. It's written by people, who all have their own opinions and biases. You have to be very careful about what you trust.

But when you interview common folk; people who have no reason to tell a lie, and you compound it with what you read, eventually everything forms a bigger picture. I have a very strong feeling that Aurora is not exception to this.
